NUMBER ONE HUNDRED & FIFTY ONE.

If you live in Sydney, this Saturday night I have a series of screen prints on show at York Street PRESENTS, a group show being hosted by St Philip’s York Street Anglican. There’s a festive theme to the exhibition, and there’ll be free wine and live music, so if you aren’t already booked to the teeth with Christmas events you should totally swing by, from 5pm. Also, New Exhibition got to do the promo work for the exhibition, which was pretty alright by me! I’ll be posting pics from the show too for anyone who doesn’t make it…

So, some pretty exciting news: the kids from Warner Music’s Cool Accidents blog selected my screen print as the winning entry in their recent Inspired competition. Thanks a tonne to those guys!

Well, this little blog officially turns a year old today… To regular perusers: thanks for bookmarking and coming back. It’s nice to know this visual diary of sorts is able to hold the interest of a few kids who are pretty rad in their own right.

Here’s to the next twelve months, and the future of this little agency, New Exhibition.

Much love,

Dan

Here’s a little teaser on a new project Leonie and I are working on… this is the cover of the first of a series of travel zines, featuring some good ol’ fashioned insider hints on the cool places to hit when you’re in town. More on this to come…

Just putting the finishing touches on the artwork for Maggie Eckford’s debut release: For What It’s Worth. This girl’s voice is money, so get on over to her myspace and check out her tunes! It was a pleasure shooting Maggie on the streets of Bondi, and so much fun coming up with the hand-produced text treatment for the album.

Today has been my first real chance to get on the blog since my two months of travel came to an end on Monday… nine weeks which were amazing, eye-opening, inspiring…

I thought I should post a few of the images I captured on my 500D, in case anyone was interested. This particular set are from India, and are a pick from several hundred shots. They’ve been post-processed with the addition of a magenta filter, slight sepia desaturation, vignette on the majority, as well as levels adjustments.

More images after the break. Enjoy!

So here it is. The much anticipated, mused about and hoped for New Exhibition blog. I mean who isn’t excited about this?

Whilst this is blog linked to a creative agency, it’s going to be an outlet for all things we deem creative or interesting, not purely things of note only within the design world. So come back often and check out what’s been happening of late in the Sydney scene.

Or just come back because you can. After all, art doesn’t tolerate reason.

Be Inspired.
